CONTEST
RULES
All
contestants agree to the following rules:
1.
Essays will be on any aspect of freedom engineering
and will be submitted in electronic form via email
to Frederick
Mann, preferably in the body of the message,
rather than as an attachment. (If necessary, essays can
be split into more than one email message.) For
more information on Freedom Engineering, see Introduction
to Freedom Engineering.
2.
Prizes will be awarded as above, in the form of credits
to contestants' accounts with BIG International. All
contestants will open BIG accounts (can be done free
of charge) and will submit their Player Account Numbers
together with their essays. Click
here to open a BIG International account. (Anyone
with difficulties downloading BIOS and opening their
account can get help on the Financial
Independence list or on the BIG
Forum.)
3.
The deadline for submissions is midnight, June 30,
2000, Eastern Standard Time. Entries must beSENTby this time. In case of questions or disputes over
an entry's receipt, the time stamp of the email message
containing the entry will determine if the entry meets
the deadline.
4.
The winners will be announced on or before August 31,
2000. All contestants will be informed of the results
at the email addresses they used for submitting their
entries. The results will also be posted on BuildFreedom.com.
Prize amounts will be transferred to the winners'
BIG accounts on or before September 7th, 2000.
5.
The contest is open to all humans and there is no
entry fee.
6.
All entries must be written in English.
7.
Entries must be between 1,000 and 5,000 words (inclusive).
Entries that don't meet this requirement will be disqualified.
8.
The submission of an entry signifies an agreement
that the essay may be published on the Free
World Order website (and on other websites owned
and/or operated by the owners of Free World Order),
with the name of the author. (Contestants may use
pseudonyms.) Contestants may upon request have their
email addresses and or website URLs included in the
publication. Published entries may be edited, and
may be accompanied by comments. This right to publish
is non-exclusive, that is, authors are free to publish
their contest entries anywhere and in any manner they
wish.
9.
The contest will be judged by Frederick Mann, and/or
any assisting judges he may appoint for this purpose.
10.
The decisions of the judge(s) will be final and not
subject to appeal. No correspondence will be entered
into regarding any aspect of the judging.
11.
Each contestant is allowed up to three entries, that
is, each contestant may submit, one, two, or three
essays.
12.
Entries written by more than one author are allowed.
In the case of multiple-author essays, the authors
are to indicate how any prize they may win is to be
shared between them. (Each author needs to have his/her
own BIG International account.) |
